taking it slow

It is an interesting time we live in.  The entire world has collectively changed.  We ALL had to mitigate our behaviors and become aware at how truly connected we really are. There is not one person on earth that hasn’t been affected by the pandemic.  As we all sit here wondering what will be our next steps, phase, or future, it can be easy to forget that there is no rush, nowhere to be, nothing was lost, and there is a depth of richness all around.

I started to feel this pressure to “go back to normal,” pressure “to make up for time lost,” this pressure “to go warp speed,” and admittedly, I felt guilty because I wasn’t ready; not ready and not sure where my footing is in this new world.  I enjoyed our time at home, our slower pace and not having to go somewhere!   Yet, I knew it was time to emerge…. so, I started making plans….

And then BAM… life tends to take over and say “nope not yet” 🤣🤣

I laugh because it happens every time I make plans.  Life has a way of letting me know it has its own plans.  Due to some health issues, the plans to emerge, to go warp speed ahead, had a sobering effect of a very loud message “GO SLOW!”

I’ve learned to listen quickly to these messages and sat back down and connected to those around me.  I started to listen to stories from clients and friends and the energy of grieving, uncertainty, beauty, and processing this past year started to have a space to flow.
LeAnne and I marveled at the book we had created years ago, and it seemed like the perfect place, the perfect message, for TODAY!  It is time to honor this amazing life we are given in its entirety:  The ups; the downs; the “I don’t knows.”  It is time to allow ourselves to be changed, to go slow, and to feel connected in ways we have overlooked; in ways that feed our souls and the souls all around us.  Most of all, have a bit of fun doing it!  Know you are not alone, and we truly feel honored by your presence and spirit in this world.
